Panama Canal Advances US$2.6 Billion Container-Terminal Investment

On 4 November, Panama Canal Administrator Ilya Espino said prequalified bidders for two new container terminals are expected to be announced by the end of 2026. The two terminals are expected to attract approximately US$2.6 billion in investment and add 5–6 million TEUs of annual handling capacity; concessions could be awarded around mid-2027.
